Firefox Android: Add Google en-US search engine

This tutorial instructs how to add Google en-US search engine as default search engine for Firefox for Android



Search engine info.:

Search engine:

Google



display language:

English



Results regions:

United States





Click on the search engine icon in the search bar



Select Search settings



Edit Default search engine



Add new search engine



Fill in fields with following info.:

Name:

Google US



Search string URL:



Search suggestion API (optional):
https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=us&ncr=1&q=%s
https://suggestqueries.google.com/complete/search?client=firefox&hl=en&gl=us&ncr=1&q=%s



New search engine Google US is created, tap on the radio button in from of Google US to switch default search engine to Google US



Tap back to apply the change



Search with the new search engine Google US, you should able to see Google en-US search results



Example usage:

When you are outside of United States, the display language of Google search engine might not be English if you are not signed in to Google

By setting Google US as default search engine, when Firefox Android is killed by out-of-memory, you can open private tab and search with Google US immediately without needing to adjust search engine language setting
